THE JOURNAL / Strategy
Choosing a digital marketing agency in Jamaica.
Compare Jamaican agencies by campaign, creative, media and website needs. Review Trend Media, 1GS, Mystique, Sitepact and Absurd with practical brief questions.

To choose a digital marketing agency in Jamaica, decide what you need to buy: an audience, campaign creative, a website, or a connected path from advertisement to qualified enquiry. Then compare providers against the same brief, including media spend, production, account ownership and follow-up.
The label “digital marketing” can cover very different work. A business launching a national consumer campaign may need media buying and production. A professional practice may need a clearer offer and a working enquiry journey before increasing its advertising budget.
About this comparison: The Absurd Company publishes this guide and offers some of the services discussed. We therefore have a commercial interest. The five providers below are a selected comparison, not a complete directory or an independent ranking. We reviewed their public service information on 27 October 2026; we have not tested their delivery or independently verified their performance claims. Confirm current scope with each provider before commissioning work.
Separate the three things your budget buys
Creative and strategy define the audience, offer, message and assets. Establish whether the work includes research, copywriting, design, photography, video, revisions and adaptation for each channel.
Distribution puts the message in front of people. Search advertising, paid social, publisher inventory and television placements are different purchases. Ask which channels are proposed, why they suit your audience and who pays the platforms or publishers.
The response journey turns interest into an action your business can use. That might involve a landing page, store, booking system or enquiry form. Decide who builds it, who receives the response and who measures what happened afterwards.
A proposal covering one of these areas can be useful. The problem is assuming it includes all three.
Compare providers by the work you need
The descriptions below summarize published services. The final column is a question to ask, not a claim about a provider’s limitations.
| Provider | Publicly described service emphasis | A useful question for your brief |
|---|---|---|
| Trend Media | Creative work includes content, branding and web development. Performance services include paid campaigns, analytics and messaging. Its publishing offer also covers TV and sports advertising. | Does this proposal cover creative, distribution and the landing journey, and how is each priced? |
| One Great Studio (1GS) | Digital marketing includes content, email, social and paid campaigns. Separate website and ecommerce services address development and integrations. | Which team owns the connections between campaign, website, payment or enquiry system and reporting? |
| Mystique Integrated | Its official site describes integrated creative and marketing work spanning branding, production, social, PR, events and web development. | Which campaign assets and channels are included, and which approvals must your team supply? |
| Sitepact | Its official site emphasizes website design and build, ongoing care, ecommerce and digital growth services. | Is the engagement a project, an ongoing service, or both, and what happens to the website when the arrangement ends? |
| The Absurd Company | Our marketing service connects offer, channel planning and the landing journey, alongside web design, landing pages and content. | What is the smallest useful scope for this project, and how will we verify that the intended customer action works? |
For Absurd, our current studio explorations are self-initiated concepts. They demonstrate design thinking; they are not evidence of completed client campaigns or measured revenue gains. Apply that distinction when reviewing any portfolio: identify what was built, for whom, what the agency actually did and what the reported outcome measures.
When is a Trend Media alternative the right question?
Start with the service you want an alternative for. A website build, a content campaign and television distribution do not have the same requirements.
Trend’s publishing page describes advertising opportunities across RushSports, RushPrime and Digicel TV. If access to particular media inventory is central to the brief, ask prospective providers about that inventory directly. Absurd does not claim to own or represent those channels.
If the requirement is a website redesign or a campaign destination, compare the proposed deliverables, integrations, launch checks and handover. An alternative is useful when its actual scope fits your business. A different agency name does not by itself make the project a better purchase.
Write a brief that makes Jamaican campaign requirements clear
Specify who can realistically buy from you. “People in Jamaica” may be too broad for a service available only in one area. A hotel reaching overseas guests needs a different message, timing and booking journey from a local retailer promoting collection in Kingston.
State whether the campaign should reach residents, visitors, diaspora customers or another defined group. Do not assume that local production means local targeting, or that overseas reach means those people can complete a purchase.
Include practical constraints: fulfilment areas, booking availability, accepted payment methods, customer-service hours, approval contacts and any fixed launch date. For ecommerce, confirm payment-provider eligibility and settlement arrangements against your business setup. A payment logo in a design is not a completed merchant integration.
Our Kingston page explains how we approach local and international audiences. Our hospitality and ecommerce pages cover the different journeys those businesses need.
Ask these questions before accepting a proposal
- What business outcome are we measuring? Define a qualified enquiry, completed booking or sale. Identify the baseline and review period where data is available.
- What is included in the agency fee? Separate strategy, creative production, website work, media spend, software and continuing support. Confirm the quote currency, payment schedule and any applicable additional charges.
- Who owns the accounts and work? Establish access to advertising accounts, domains, analytics, creative files and the website. Agree what is handed over and what licences continue.
- Who approves the message? Name the person responsible for product facts, pricing, permissions and final sign-off. Include deadlines for approvals and a process for changed requirements.
- What happens after someone responds? Test the route into the correct inbox, booking system or CRM. Name the person who follows up and agree how duplicate, irrelevant and unanswered enquiries are handled.
- What will the report distinguish? Reach, visits, submitted forms, qualified leads and won business are different stages. Ask which the agency can measure and which require your sales team’s input.
- What happens if the campaign underperforms? Agree a review point and the evidence used to change the offer, creative, targeting or page. Clarify who authorizes additional spend.
- What continues after launch? Document maintenance, reporting, content changes, response expectations, cancellation terms and transfer of access.
Give shortlisted providers the same answers and constraints. Otherwise a low headline price may simply describe a smaller or different assignment.
Judge results in context
Ask for an example similar to your buying journey, not only a recognizable logo. If a provider shares a percentage improvement, ask for the starting value, period, traffic source, definition and its responsibility for the work. A campaign can create enquiries while the business loses them through slow or incomplete follow-up.
For an illustrative service campaign, 30 form submissions might include duplicate messages and requests outside the service area. Record how many were received, how many met the agreed criteria, how many reached a proposal and how many became paid work. Those stages help you decide what needs improving. They are not performance figures for Absurd or any provider in this guide.
There is no single best digital marketing agency for every Jamaican business. Choose a provider whose documented scope, relevant evidence, working arrangement and commercial terms match the job you need done.
Bring the buying decision into the first conversation
If you are considering Absurd, send your business website, the offer you want to promote, the customers you can serve, your timing and an investment range if you have one. Tell us what happens to enquiries today and what needs to improve.
Explore our digital marketing and campaign strategy service or prepare a project brief. The homepage brief prepares an email for you to review and send; preparing it does not send an enquiry automatically. For a website-only procurement decision, use our separate guide to choosing a web design agency.
Service information can change. If a factual description in this guide needs correcting, contact Absurd with the relevant source.
